May 30, 2012
Dear Flight Attendants:
The National Mediation Board (NMB) today officially closed the case regarding our representation at the new United. Nearly a year ago a majority of Flight Attendants voted for representation with the Association of Flight Attendants and the NMB affirms today there will be no revote.
Over the past year we have accomplished a lot together and we are preparing for better days at our airline. Negotiations concluded for pre-merger United Flight Attendants and pre-merger Continental and Continental Micronesia Flight Attendants are moving quickly to secure their own bridge contracts with improvements while we prepare for single contract negotiations.
On June 20, 2012, representatives from each pre-merger airline will attend a meeting called by our AFA International President to begin preparations for the next step in United’s merger. We are focused on building our power as we learn more about each others’ unique cultures and prepare for the most important negotiations of our careers. Together we will build a contract that reflects our collective priorities and sets a new standard for the industry.
We are unified.
